Recovering at the Art Studio – Blog Paws

Those of you who follow my blog will recognize one of our art studio mascots, Smokey. Two weeks ago, he had to be rushed to the veterinary clinic for emergency surgery. As you can imagine, it was such a shock.

We set up a cage for his recuperation, which requires bed rest and absolutely no jumping. He also had to wear one of those dreaded cones to prevent him from chewing on his incision.

Since then, I have been nursing him back to health. Each day he improves, which is such a relief. Besides eating food, one of his greatest pleasures is sleeping under a blanket. Looks like he’s slowly getting back to normal! Lol

As much as I enjoy writing posts and conversing with followers, I have not been able to keep up with my blog. I’ll try to read your posts and comments but will be slow in responding. Thanks for reading and please keep positive thoughts and energy flowing this way. Smokey and I really appreciate it!

Take Care & Happy Crafting!

  5. Thanks for asking. He is doing better. Today we released him from his cage. Smokey walked around the house to see if anything changed and then he crawled onto my mom’s bed for a nap. It’s so cute. We are still waiting for test results and have a follow up appointment later this month. Thanks for keeping him in your prayers. We appreciate it!

  8. Hi Elvira, thanks for asking. I’m not sure how Smokey is. He did very well for the first two weeks. In week three he became very finicky about food and wasn’t eating enough. This week he is recuperating at my brother’s house because they have decades of experience nursing cats. He is eating better now and has a doctor’s appointment next Tuesday. I hope they will have good news. Keep the prayers coming. We both need them. All the best to you and yours! Thanks again!
