When I was a kid, I saw a sweet mare and her foal happily resting in a barn. The newborn had not stood up, which concerned the staff. The mother was led out of the stall while two staff members dashed in and stood the baby up. The mare broke free, charged into the stall and blocked the entrance to keep her baby safe. Lesson for the day: never come between a mother and her child.
